Hello! My name is Nicolette Cussins and I'm a Textile Designer based along the coast of sunny California. I was born on the island of Kauai shortly after hurricane Iniki hit in 1992. I spent half my childhood exploring the jungles and beaches of Hawaii before my family moved to the charming small beach town of Half Moon Bay, California, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. I moved to Southern California in 2016 to complete my undergraduate studies in the School of Art Fiber Program at Cal State Long Beach and am now located in Huntington Beach.

Being in constant surroundings of nature as a child was where I found my love for the outdoors and plant life. I find organic arrangements found in nature to be aesthetically pleasing and gain inspiration from these forms by traveling to uninhabited locations. Some of my favorite places to travel to are mountain ranges, lakes, and most of all secluded beaches. The ocean has always been a constant source of energy for me and is where I find peace of mind.
